Probablement, un propietari rural o petit noble. El 1298 va mantenir, en menjar i beguda, l'alquimista Joan l'Anglès (fl. 1298) durant el seu pas per Santa Coloma de Queralt, i aquest, a punt de desplaçar-se a Tarragona, es comprometé a reintegrar-li les despeses. Deu ser el mateix que, casat amb una certa Bartomeua, foren pares (c. 1265) de Maria Savit, la primera esposa (c. 1286-1288) amb Guillem de Santa Coloma (c. 1264-1310), que fou batlle de la Figuerola (1281) i castlà de Santa Coloma (1286-1289 i 1303-1310), germà de Pere (IV) de Queralt i pare de Guillem de Santa Coloma (c. 1292 – c. 1348). — Formes antigues del nom: «Petrus Zavit» (llatí). — Nota: Savit (var. Çavit, Zavit o Cevit) és el nom antic del poble de Civit (Talavera, Segarra), que vers 1286 passà a la senyoria dels Queralt.
