Cet ouvrage traite de l'évolution de la composition des encres noires à écrire de l'antiquité jusqu'au XVIIe siècle dans les différentes traditions culturelles : Extrême-Orient, monde méditerranéen antique, encre à usage liturgique chez les juifs dans l'Islam et l'Occident médiéval. Un recueil de recettes avec un index détaillé des substances compète le texte.

Partnership between Joan Llunes and Joan Francesc Llunes, father and son, and Lluís Gual, the former’s son-in-law, surgeons of Caldes de Montbui, in order to practise the profession, 1579 (AHCB).
