Bos, Gerrit, Novel Medical and General Hebrew Terminology from the Middle Ages, Leiden - Boston, Brill, 2024, vol. 7 (255 pp.).

Resum
The current volume is part of a wider project aiming at mapping the novel Hebrew technical medical and general terminology as it features in medieval Hebrew medical works translated both from Arabic and Latin. It is my hope that this volume, just like the earlier ones, will facilitate the consultation of medical works and the identification of translators whose identity is unknown or uncertain. One such identification is that of the author of the Sefer ha-Mezonot, a Hebrew translation of Abu Marwan ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Zuhr's K. al-Aghdhiya. In NM 6, I was able to show that the translator of this text is in all probability Nathan ha-Meʾati. In the same volume, I suggested that Nathan ha-Meʾati might also be the translator of the Sammim Libbiyim, i.e., a Hebrew translation of Ibn Sīnā's K. al-Adwiya al-qalbiya. This translation is considered to be by an anonymous translator until now.
